REPORT IN TERMS OF SECTION 175 OF THE CHILDREN’S ACT 38 OF 2005

The matter of Masentle Radebe was brought to the attention of Central Gauteng Mental Health Society on the 28 July 2008 by thevia a referral from Zimeleni School for the IntellectualIntellectually Disabled Children, Occupational Therapist Hermina Raphini, indicating that the child concentered isconcerned child was in need of financial assistance because her biological mother is deceased. Masentle was diagnosed with an intellectual disability.
In 2008 October the 22, the case was opened and finalized at Alberton Magistrate Court where the child concerned was placed under the care of Mrs Elizabeth Dimakatso Radebe. Masentle reached the age of majormajority in 2017 and remain under the provision of Section 176 of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005 to be able to complete her education and training. The foster parent reported that the child is currently receiving a disability grant.


RECOMMENDATION
• To discharge the child concerned, as she has reached the age of majormajority and she is receiving a disability grant.
• Central Gauteng Mental Health Society will continue rendering psycho socialto render psycho-social support to the client and the family.
