Before the 1900s, there were no special basketball uniforms. Basketball players wore any type of athletic clothes, which made it difficult to differentiate teams. The first basketball uniform had knee-length padded pants or shorter pants with long tights. There were two types of T- shirts, - one with sleeves, while the other was sleeveless. The entire uniform was made of heavy wool. TheyPlayers wore special basketball shoes with suction cups. Basketball uniforms have changed through the years. Basketball uniformsand are very different now. Today, theyplayers wear long shorts and sleeveless t-shirts. The uniform is made of lighter polyester and nylon. For example, San Antonio Spurs players wear black and white t-shirts and shorts. In the future, these uniforms will change too. Players need uniforms that are practical and in fashion.
