In my opinion, things would have been better of if the Special Field Order No. 15 was never overturned, because the land ownership was the best way to achieve economic independence. Like the video said, the African Americans wanted their own land to start their own business to pay back. The "40 acres and a mule" was a perfect strategy that we all could have economically benefited from. If you think about it, we owe African Americans. We owe them for the countless numbers who were enslaved, and for the endangerment we put them through before the Civil Rights Act took effect. Even though no amount of money can change their traumatic and emotional days of being a slave, they should have the right to live freely atnd in peace. As the result of this, we could have had black wealth, which in my opinion is what they were scared of. They were scared of African Americans having more wealth than whites, and having power.
