When I think of the idea of technological fantasy, I think of futuristic and innovative ideas expressed through the power of technology. This idea of technological fantasy also ties in with my research of the Ovalia Egg Chair. The use of very minimal and simplistic materials like fiberglass while still incorporating materials like upholstery and polyester to keep the comfort aspect in the design. If I were to create a piece of technological fantasy furniture, I would take the route in designing a desk and chair as one piece. To create this, I would use fiberglass as the outer shell and would use velvet on the interior seating. Since technology sparks that innovative and futuristic idea, the piece would be nonlinear to resemble our concept of a space bubble. Technology is changing our world continuously, and I would take the route of creating a nonlinear piece because neoclassical, rococo, arts and craft pieces and so on never really acquired nonlinear furniture as much as todaystoday's day with technology. When adding technology to my design, I would include aan overhead sound system and a laptop installed directly into the desk. This piece would be not be as versatile as aan old fashionfashioned desk and chair, but the innovative use of technology would never let the desk and chair not have a function.
