Abstract
Educational reform in Indonesia cannot be separated from the figure of K. H. Ahmad Dahlan. The purpose of
this study is to examine more deeply about education based on the thoughts of K. H. Ahmad Dahlan and to
examine the correlation of the character K. H. Ahmad Dahlan in the education system in Indonesia. This
article is written using a historical method, namely
, by collecting data sources from trusted journals on the
internet. The results showed that K. H. Ahmad Dahlan had succeeded in changing the educational structure by
using his own thoughts on education. According to K. H. Ahmad Dahlan, the goal of perfect education is to
give birth to individuals who fully master general and religious knowledge, material and spiritual, as well as
the world and the hereafter. To achieve this goal, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan had the idea of establishing a school so
that natives could attend school. On December 1, 1911
, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan's first school was Madrasah
Ibtidaiyah Diniyah. From this school,
finally K. H. Ahmad Dahlan finally formed an organization called
Muhammadiyah in 1912. It was continued in 1917
thatwith the formation of a special women's organization called Aisyiyah was
also
. formed. Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah have become reforms in the world of education. This can be
provendemonstrated by the widespread distribution of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah schools throughout Indonesia.
