To be fair, most major recent risk management initiatives acknowledge the relevance of ethics. The COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) standard in the US, the Turnbull Report and its progeny in the UK, the work of Standards Australia, as well as standards-settingstandard-setting activities in Japan and Canada, all identify morality and ethical behaviour as important concerns (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission, 2003; Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, 2002; Cabinet Office Strategy Unit, 2002; Standards Australia, 1999). Workplace ethics isare considered highly important because of the past frauds cases like Enron, WorldCom, and Satyam. Ethics isare the most important part of risk management. Ethical decision-makingdecision making is critical in managing ethics in organizations. (Bowen, 2004; Lehnert et al., 2015). As an HR manager, I have always tried to be a role model for my employees. A, and to create and maintain a good bond between employeeemployees and the organisation.
For Example- Inexample, in my previous organisation, I was asked to sanction a document for consultancy
Chargescharges, which were never used. I immediately informed my senior and stopped the payment. As an HR professional, I had set an example of ethical behaviour and a lesson tofor all to avoid unethical practices. After that incident, I was given a namenickname by my fellow mates: (satyasatya ki murat)murat, which means truth doll. EthicalAn ethical behaviour or decision making not only helps the organisation to be successful but also encouragedencourages me to grow, develop and embedimplement ethical practices in my organisation. So, I can say that corporate ethical values, a major dimensionaspect of organizational culture, can significantly impact the behaviour of individuals within the organization. (Schein, 1984).
And asAs a Risk Management professional, I will always be an Individualindividual who will lead ethically, decide and perform ethically, and will encourage everyone to work ethically.
