I’m writing this to inform you of an incident regarding JohnsJohn's laptop. On October 8, 2020, our Customer Engineer Intern was assigned the following task: Reimage laptops given in by school personnel (means to delete all the data on the computer hard drive and restore to factory settings) and to install programs that would serve to backup user data. During the process, our intern was informed John had personal files/media on his laptop. As a result, John had personal files that were lost. I take full responsibility for this situation,; John, I apologize, I completely understand how frustrating this must be for you. I will be in contact with you to see if there is any way your data can be recovered.
Going forward for all school staff, please do not store any personal information on your work machines. Personal information should be kept on allonly on personal devices. If you have personal data on your computer.

1. Inform your higher upshigher-ups that you have some personal data saved on the computer that you would like to get off before leaving.
2. Explain that none of it is company related. ifIf approved, contact IT. weWe will verify this and sit with you while you copy the data to an external device.
