As Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Heritage Sciences and Media Education of the University of Udine, I got to know Serena, who recently graduated from our master's degree, by discussing a thesis of study of materials and investigation historiography of the State Railways Film Collection, preserved in the National Archive of Corporate Cinema (Photogram Award 2019, awarded by AIRSC).
The candidate supported the theoretical and methodological study of archival practices, historical research, with particular reference to cinematographic sources and archives, towith practical experiences (conservation, repair, scanning, photochemical, etc.), in which she demonstrated seriousness, application and availability. Specifically, she collaborated on preservation and restoration projects at the laboratory La Camera Ottica, at the Centre de Conservació i Restauració de la Filmoteca de Catalunya, and the Archivio Nazionale del Cinema d’Impresa.
She also participated in the Spring School of June 2016 at the ANIM in Lisbon and in the 74th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, as a jury member of the Venice Classics section, for the best restored film and for the best documentary film about cinema.
The possibility of an internship at the archive XXX will not only offer youthe archive Serena's unique knowledge and skills of recognized excellence, but also highlight itsher qualities and predispositions and finally the determination to want to continue in the profession of film archivist and film restorer.
