Also, the Aquaponicsaquaponics system consists of three basic elements for the success of the system, which are fish, plants and bacteria that grow naturally in water; an environment that is almost self-adaptive.However, the AquapenicAn aquaponics system works like this.: Fish are fed intoin the fish tank with foods suited to the fish during separate periodsat different times. Fish excrete solid waste in the water, along with the chemical ammonia compound that is excreted through the fish urine. One of two things happens to solid waste of fish. First, the waste can be filtered out of the system, either through the traditional filter system or through thea growth medium. Second, waste can be consumed by the natural bacteria present in the water, which convertconverts it into different compounds, most of which are ammonia. There are two types of bacteria that convert toxic ammonia into benign nitrates, which are nitrosomonesnitrosomonas and nitrospira. These are two types of self-feeding familyfamilies called "nitrifying bacteria." The nitrifyingNitrifying bacteria needneeds a surface like gravel, plumbing walls and even plant roots. These bacteria are present in the roots of plants to perform their role, as they are very effective byfor converting ammonia and nitritenitrates. When the water is pumped into the growth ponds, the plants absorb nutrients and continue to grow. The plants act as a purifier for the water coming from the fish tank where they remove, removing these compounds and thenmaking the water becomes valid again for the aquarium again. At this point the clean water is returned to the fish tank and the cycle begins again.
