Obeying the laws is very important, even when in a hurry. I was leaving work in my car after a late shift during my summer after my sophomore year. I wanted to get home quickly and go to bed, I was just depleted. Driving down K-10, I got a phone call from my boss saying, “I left your watch in the office if you want to pick it up,” and I told my boss after my shift. Being tired, I turned around and stepped on it to get my watch. I knew that they were waiting for me so they could close their warehouse. As I was going down K-10, the worst thing that you can ever see appeared. The red, white, and blue flashing lights had me pull over. While he was walking up, I knew I was in trouble, not so much for speeding, but because I had been procrastinating to get my actual driver's license. I was driving around with a permit, not caring. I was told I could've been arrested for not having a valid license, and, on top of that, I could not find my insurance card. A week passed, and I went to the District office to pay my fine. I had to pay practically a third of what I earned that summer, $305. Speeding tickets are petty, but nonetheless, the law should be obeyed.
