Introduce myself

My name is Revaa Balakrishnan and I’m a Grade 9 student currently attending Louise Arbour Secondary School. I’m 14 years old and I was born on May 31, 2004, in Brampton, ON. As a student, I like to believe I’m an ambitious and focused learner who’s always looking for new opportunities to try new things. I hope, as I move further into my studies, these characteristics will benefit me as a student and help me achieve many things.

Growing up, I loved to swim. and quiteQuite frankly, I still do to this day. Over the span of 8 years, I managed to finish all the stages, including the 3 lifeguarding courses at the age of 13. I grew very passionate about swimming over these 8 years and I’m planning to join a competitive team very soon. This giveswill give me an opportunity to try something that I haven’t done yet.

Over the summer of 2018, I volunteered at Mayfield Recreation Complex for 2 weeks, 9am-1pm. Over these 2 weeks, I assisted children in learning how to swim by physically helping them and communicating with them. Currently, I’ve enrolled myself to continue volunteering to start September 17, 5:30pm-8pm. I do enjoy volunteering at Mayfield Recreation Complex. and, overallOverall, I find it isto be an advantageous experience that couldwill benefit me in the future, especially when it comes to getting a job for high school.
