Head Start Learning Tree 842-46 S. 57th street 12/1993 to 6/2012

My Head Start Learning Tree career started as a Parent Volunteer, working and assisting the teacher with different activities such as: toileting, hand washing, reading stories and walking. I then became an Assistant Teacher, writing antidotal notes, child assessments, individualization, lesson plans, bulletin boards,& cutting and pasting activities. I was promoted to Head Teacher, assigned my own class and allowed to utilize my own creativity in meeting the needs of children, including those with disabilities. Finally, in 2001, I became Lead Teacher over the entire center. My responsibilititieresponsibilities, all of the aforementioned, as well as new ones such as: implementing the Head Start procedures, supporting parent- teacher intervention when disagreement occuroccurs, planning center trips, establishing and maintaining a safe healthy learning environment, writing reviews, and posting literature
for meetings. Encouraging, encouraging parents to attend meeting and become more involved in their children's education, having home visits and parent conferences, and lastly recruiting children for the program.
