I enjoyed this book very much. The author describes a German point of view during the worst war in history, while using humor and playfulness and not making it so dark and depressing, as people would think a book like this would be about. I thoughtexpected it would be about that myself! I loved how the author foreshadows events, while making it so that we havethe reader want to keep reading in order for us to find out what led to that event. The most important thing I learned from the book, personally, is that hope is essential in life. We have a choice whether or not to have it, but when you dohave hope, life looks a whole lot different. The most important thing I learned about myself is that, no matter how hard my life can be, there is always somebody else that has it much worse. There are people that havewho have to make decisions that are a matter of life and death. I learned that I should take advantage of the life I have, no matter how hard it can be.
