This absolvent degree thesis is focused on one of the most interesting monuments in the Czech Republic - ‘The Old Town Astronomical Clock’. It is interesting that the Clock is also an historical, technical, and artistic artefact. It is thein a place of unique history, daily visited by thousands of tourists, although not many people know what exactly the cClock has already experienced and whabout’s its history and mystery. That’s why this thesis describes the topic in terms of history and the esotery of thise place.
The result is in a two-part, composed show in the form of an audiobook named ‘The History of Tthe Old Town Astronomical Clock’ and ‘The Esotery of Tthe Old Town Astronomical Clock’. The first part introduces the creation and essence of the Clock,; its imperfections and the people who took care of it during the centuries. The second part introduces its myths and legends. This thesis is followed by a separate project of Hana Řičicová who introduces ‘The Technical and Cultural Meaning of The Old Town Astronomical Clock’. These theses are related and complement each other.
