I have learned that trying to practice sSpanish with someone who speaks your native language is much more difficult than someone who only speaks sSpanish. When someone has the same first language as you, and there are any discrepancies and you revert right back to eEnglish. At work I tspealk with some people who cannot speak any eEnglish at all. Even though it's more difficult, I am forced to learn. To be a good partner I try to help with anything extra that I might know. To improve this experience we could fFacetime instead of makeing phone calls. I find that watching a person speak is very helpful when trying to understand.
