As a full -cycle accounting professional with history of performing month-end and, quarter-end and closing activities,; maintaining, monitoring and reconciling general Lledger accounts,; bank reconciliations,; accounts receivables,; accounts payables,; government remittances; and inter -account monitoring and reconciliations., I am excited to submit my application for the available Accounts Payable Administrator position with Mount Royal University. My comprehensive hands-on experience in Aaccounting, as well as my educational background in Aaccounting will make me an excellent addition to Athe accounting group at Mount Royal University.

Working as a Ffull C-cycle Aaccountant, has allowed me to demonstrate and hone my accounting and administrative skills by effectively handling complex financial activities. In my current role, I have accelerated cash flows by 22% through proactive account management and collection practices. I have also expedited customer account resolution, improved customer service and reduced account errors by creating an alert in simply accounting to highlight customer account requirements. This position also allowed me to use my analytical and interpersonal skills to analyze and decipher information in generating financial reports for our sales departments and other stake holders in finding opportunities for improvement. I am eager to put these skills sets to use by joining the accounting team at Mount Royal University.

My experience working as an Assistant Manager with Safeway, has equipped me with a multitude of relevant skills such as maintaining operational standards, customer service levels, driving sales, budgeting, controlling labor and inventory. In my role, I was assigned to develop a plan to increase sales for a period of time, and I developed a game plan to achieve the goal. To achieve this goal, I decided to have all the department managers involved. I had a meeting with the department managers of the store and we set a goal to increase sales from 4% to 12% for a six-month period. At our initial meeting we brainstormed ideas fofr how to achieve this goal, which included ordering weekly promotional items to the store in a week in advance before the sale, ordering items based on weekly sales forecast and the previous year’s sales. I also assdignrected to the department managers to select non -promotional items (which compliements the promotional items) weekly to tie in with promotional items to drive sales for the entire store and not just the promotional items. I also worked with our warehouse manager as well as the various sales merchandising representatives in making sure that we had sufficient products in stock to meet weekly demand. By continuously doing this, I was able to increase sales for our store from 4% to 19% for the six-month period.

Throughout my entire career, I have been successful in solving problems, resolving conflict, and contributing to shared objectives;. hHowever, pursuing a Master of Management Science (Operations Management) wiath University of Waterloo’s faculty of Engineering, makes me feel more confident than ever in my recommendations of new procedures and methods, and I am eager to put these skills sets to use by joining the accounting team at Mount Royal University.
