Thank you for getting back to me and providing me with some insight. After speaking with you, it is clear that Catholic Health is looking for a more cost effective solution to Negative Pressure Wound Therapy. Health System Services is confident that we can help Catholic Health save a significant amount of money when it comes to NPWT.

To answer your questions….
Health System Services does have products that are equivalent to the PREVENA and ABTHERA, products offered by KCI. Pensar (The manufacturer we work with) has a pump called “The pocket dial” in front of the FDA now that will be able to compete with the PREVENA. I am attaching the information on the pocket dial for your review. They are hoping to have that product available shortly. While PENSAR awaits clinical approval from the FDA for the “pocket dial”, Health System Services is partnering with Smith and Nephew to offer the PICO to our customers. This will serve in the place of the PREVENA, and offer the same clinical results for a fraction of the cost.
As for the ABTHERA… Pensar, in keeping with its mission to provide a more efficient and cost effective NPWT, constructed their existing WoundPro with a very powerful 8 lpm pump,; this makes it well equipped to provide enhanced fluid removal that is required with theis type of wounds. Instead of having to purchase a separate pump, Catholic Health can use the existing Pensar pump with a specially designed abdominal dressing. I am attaching a letter that speaks to how the existing pump can be used in that application, as well as the pricing for that dressing.

Health System Services, as a locally owned and operated provider, does have the capacity and is currently servicing multiple accounts in the Buffalo area. We are currently contracted with all 4 of Catholic Health’s nursing homes and have someone there weekly. We also are working with all 6 of Catholic Health’s hospitals to provide patient’s with the equipment they need to ensure a smooth and safe transition to their home.s; Nnot to mention the work we do with both the Catholic Life Program and McAuley Seton Home Care., Mmaking us well equipped to service any need that Catholic Health may have. We also have enough on hand inventory to provide rental pumps at a rate of 6,000 patients per year.
