The solid materials, known as plastic waste, on the beaches, resulting from the human activities. They threaten the coastal environment, and the effects on the ecosystem health are called marine debris (Zhou et al.,2011). There are many types of pollution, but plastic waste is one of the main types that have become a global problem. This is particularly true of plastic waste in the marine environment, which can travel long distances, carried by currents or transported by (means such as wildlife) which ingest, or become entangled, in plastic. Some reports and studies refer to that so? percent of plastic waste in the sea is from land-based sources (sShevely , 2005) and 60 – 80 % of the waste found on beaches, floating on the ocean on the seabed, is plastic (Derrik, 2002; Barnes, 2005). Sources of plastic waste vary by region, for example, shipping and fisheries and significant contributors in the East Aisha sea region and Southern North sSea (Kershaw et al., 2011). Some plastic is designed to be biodegradable, such as landfill, but it is uncertain if these will occur under other conditions, especially in the oceans when the temperature is colder ( O’Brine& Thompson, 2010). Even if plastic biodegrades, it will temporarily break into smaller fragments, which then produce so-called (microplastic). The degradation process depends on chemical composition, molecular weight, additives, environmental condition and other factors (Singh and Sharma, 2008). Full degradation into carbon dioxide, water and inorganic molecules are called mineralization (Andrady, 2003). Based on research to date , most commonly used plastic does not mineralize in the ocean, and instead breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces.
