The topic of the two articles is "What does the US owe to undocumented workers during a pandemic?". Two articles examinesexamine the issue, including "What the US still owes undocumented workers", by " GREGORY MANIATIS" from September 24, 2020 and "What we owe to undocumented workers during Pandemic" by Saket Soni and Marielena Hinacapi, from May 6, 2020. Both works are about how undocumented workers in the U.S. suffered during the pandemic because the government was doing in justice to them. Maniatis used in the first article descriptive writing and logical appeal. Soni and Marielena used in the second article an informative writing style and emotional appeal . These are the rhetorical strategies that both articles use to persuade the reader to take action concerning this issue and inform the audience what happened in that crucial time. The purpose of both works is to inform the audience what illegal workers go through by using their different strategies/writing styles. Many different factors have caused undocumented workers to suffer and survive.
