I'm going to talk about my subject: math and forecastforecasts.

Today, mathematics is present in all fields, such as physics, sports, or psychology
, for example. And this subject thatsubject has existed since antiquity and has constantly evolved over time.
One of the many interesting aspects of mathematics is that it allows us to predict future events, or at least to
knowdetermine an approximation.

Throughout this presentation, I will
presentshare some examples of forecasts that seem interesting to discover. We can ask ourselves: whatWhat are the advantages and disadvantages of these discoveries.discoveries?

First, I
will talk aboutuse an example in sport, with the discipline of pole-vaulting, where we will observe an application of mathematics associated with physics. Then, in a second step, I will present thea forecast that allow the association of computer science and mathematics, with the prediction of football match results.

II - Mathematics and Physics

Now let’s look at the first example.

By combining physics and mathematics, it is possible to predict the value of certain world records. I’ll give you an example of a world record forecast with the discipline of pole-vaulting.

Pole vault

At the moment, the World Pole Vault Record is held by a Frenchman.

- Who can give me the name of this athlete? And
How tall is thishow high was his world record?

The correct answer was Renaud Lavillenie, who broke through 6.16m in 2014.

The simplest way to understand the pole vault is to think of energy. If you want to rise from a certain height you need energy to overcome gravity and there is a formula that allows you to calculate the energy you need.
